Clients of the Bank can freely find a counterpart for such transactions on the "P2P" public channel in the Dukascopy Connect 911 messenger.

Is it safe to buy and sell cryptocurrency using the 911 Crypto P2P service?

Yes, it is safe if the cryptocurrency exchange is conducted in a frame of a P2P deal established between its counterparts. The P2P service, by its design does not transfer fiat funds to any third party without Buyer's final confirmation of receiving of crypto assets. The Seller is also protected by the mechanism that Buyer cannot cancel the reservation of funds on their own. In case of misunderstanding, Support team representative will check the case in question and make the final decision completing or canceling the deal depending on the result of an investigation.

How can I make a P2P crypto-fiat transaction?

In Dukascopy Connect 911 application please go to section "P2P", click on ''+'' button and create your advertisement indicating the required details. Once someone reacts to your ad, switch to the one-to-one chat with the counterparty, agree on the ultimate condition of the future deal and initiate a binding offer through a dedicated form right from the chat.

Are there any restrictions applied by Dukascopy for the ways of transferring сryptocurrencies?

Dukascopy does not limit the means of crypto transfer. Buyer may get cryptocurrency to their wallet in any network in case Seller is able to deliver crypto to that network. The same is valid for crypto transfers inside crypto exchanges - in case both of the counterparts have wallets there, Seller will be able to make a crypto transfer. Sellers and Buyers can indicate up to 6 blockchains/cryptoexchanges in their ads with which they can operate to conduct crypto transfers.

May I bargain with the counterpart?

While creating an ad, users can decide whether they want to negotiate the price of the deal or not. Their choice will be reflected on the P2P ads board. For example, a “No bargaining” label on the ad will mean that the counterpart is ready to conduct a deal at the stated price only. Absence of such label on the ad will signify a possible room for negotiation of the price with counterpart. In general, the counterparts are encouraged to communicate with each other to agree on the details of the P2P deals before its establishment.

Are there any risks for Buyer entailed with using the 911 Crypto P2P service?

The main risk for Buyer is to indicate an incorrect wallet ID. For example, if the provided address misses at least one symbol or has an extra one, the Buyer will not have an access to the sent crypto.

The same result will be obtained if Buyer indicates a wallet that does not belong to the blockchain in which Seller conducts transfer. For example, the Buyer provided ETH wallet for BTC transfer or ERC20 compatible wallet for USDT transfer from the Tron network (TRС20 standard).

To avoid the described issues, counterparts have to communicate with each other to agree on the details of the deal before it is established. In particular, the exact blockchain has to be clearly stated by the Buyer in the P2P chat before the Seller initiates a crypto assets transfer.

Are there any risks for Seller entailed with using the 911 Crypto P2P service?

The main risk for Seller is to send cryptocurrency to the wallet ID and/or blockchain that differs from the indicated by Buyer. In this case, the reserved funds for the deal will be returned back to the Buyer’s account by Support team representative and the deal will be seen as failed by the Seller.

To avoid the described issues, counterparts have to communicate with each other in the P2P chat to agree on the details of the deal before it is established.

May I buy or sell a cryptocurrency without using the 911 Crypto P2P service?

The Bank does not take any responsibility for losses taken after sides concluded a cryptocurrency exchange agreement in a chat or verbally without establishing of a P2P deal. Respectively, in this case the Bank will not make any compensations.

Dukascopy Bank urges cryptocurrency Buyers to see as fraudulent any attempt of your chatmate to persuade you into sending your fiat funds directly to them in a chat, giving hollow promises to deliver you cryptocurrency afterwards. After you send the funds, most probably the crypto will not be delivered to you by this user. Same is also true for cryptocurrency Sellers.

The only safe and secure way to buy/sell crypto is to send or accept an offer, establish a P2P deal and strictly follow the instructions provided at every step of the 911 Crypto P2P service.

Please check the Terms & Conditions of the P2P service to avoid any sort of issues.
